Open Enrollment Has Begun
We are excited to announce the arrival of open enrollment for the
2010-2011 school year at Pattison's Academy for Comprehensive Education. We will accept applications starting
October 1st, 2009 and ending January 1st, 2010. Please read all forms carefully and sign where indicated. Only
fully completed applications will be accepted. As noted on the instruction sheet, submitting an application
does not guarantee enrollment.
Admission
Requirements

Any child living in Charleston County School District is
eligible.
If the number of applications exceeds the capacity of the
program, class, grade level, or building, admission will be determined by a lottery to be held
following the 3 month open enrollment period. Preference will be given to siblings of students
already enrolled and children of Board of Directors.

We accept children without regard to
race, color, religion, gender, disability or national origin.
Admission
Procedures
Applications for the upcoming school year are accepted starting October 1st when the new
application is posted on the school’s website. During the open enrollment period (which lasts for
approximately 3 months), applications are accepted for the lottery of open spaces. Currently enrolled
students have automatic placement with “returning student” documentation turned in by the deadline. If
the “returning student” paperwork is not turned in, the position is
forfeited.
If more applications
are received than there are open spaces, a lottery is held on February 1st or the first business day
thereafter. After the lottery spaces are filled, the other applicants are drawn and placed on a
waitlist. Applicants will be notified in writing of placement or
waitlist position. The waitlist position is valid for one year and
a new application must be filed the following year for the next lottery and/or waitlist
position.
Applications are only valid for the grade applied for. Students that do not receive a
recommendation for promotion or do not file the proper paperwork by the deadline forfeit the
position.
